TALKIES SHORT FILM Commission – Documentary 2021
TALKIES DOCUMENTARY COMMISSION 2021.
We are currently recruiting for a director/producer for a documentary short film.
We have been awarded a small grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) as part of the Stories of Enfield heritage project. Our proposal is centred on Archbishop Costakis Evangelou, a minister who has founded arts and sports clubs in Edmonton to benefit young people.
We are seeking a filmmaker who is able to deliver a short 15-30 minute film, that focusses on the Archbishop, his youth clubs, his heritage and his positive influence on the heritage of Enfield. The successful filmmaker will have the creative freedom to showcase this heritage story as they wish but they must work within the guidelines HLF have set out (Talkies will provide guidance for this throughout). Completion date is September 2022.
The role will also require you to work with aspiring local young film makers who have impressed the Talkies team with their existing film making skills and capability. Your guidance will provide them with the experience to go on and produce other documentaries.
If you are interested in taking on this role please complete the attached form by Midday Monday 1st November . More details on the project will be provided to applicants who are invited to the interviews, which will be held between 15th – 19th November.
Talkies Community Cinema has previously commissioned 30 short films and has a good track record of supporting film makers.
