BLINDSPOTTING

Co-writers and co-stars, Daveed Diggs and Rafael Casal have known each other for over 20 years and have created songs, albums and plays together. They scripted Blindspotting over a period of nine years to draw attention to the culture, community and sense of “heightened reality” that has shaped life in Oakland, California, an area that was becoming rapidly gentrified. Based around Collin’s desire to see out his last three days of probation without incident, this unique and disarming film tells its story with assured characterisation, sharp social commentary and great performance poetry.
