WAJIB

THURS 7 NOV

Abu, a Palestinian schoolteacher in his mid-60s, feels personally humiliated both by his long-ago divorce and the day-to-day restrictions imposed by the Nazarene authorities. After his daughter Amal’s wedding he’ll be living alone. Shadi, his architect son, arrives from Rome, after years abroad, to help his father hand-deliver the invitations. During the day, they reminisce and needle each other about their very different lives and attitudes, finally addressing issues that, until then, have been left unspoken.
