SYNOPSIS
Finnish director and screenwriter Juho Kuosmanen adapted Compartment No.6 from a novel of the same name by Rosa Liksom. It tells the story of Laura, a young Finnish archaeology student in Moscow, who sets off on a long rail journey to an ancient site of petroglyphs near the Arctic Circle. On the way, she forms an unlikely relationship with a Russian miner who’s sharing her compartment.
The film was awarded the Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival (2021) and shortlisted as the Finnish entry for the 94th Academy Awards for Best International Feature film.
