COMPARTMENT NO.6

Finnish director and screenwriter Juho Kuosmanen adapted Compartment No.6 from a novel of the same name by Rosa Liksom.  It tells the story of Laura, a young Finnish archaeology student in Moscow, who sets off on a long rail journey to an ancient site of petroglyphs near the Arctic Circle.  On the way, she forms an unlikely relationship with a Russian miner who’s sharing her compartment.

The film was awarded the Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival (2021) and shortlisted as the Finnish entry for the 94^th Academy Awards for Best International Feature film.
