TALKIES SHORT FILM Commission – Documentary 2023
TALKIES DOCUMENTARY COMMISSION 2023.
We are currently recruiting for a director/producer for a documentary short film.
We have been awarded a grant of £4,000 from the National Heritage Lottery Fund (NHLF) as part of the Untold Edmonton programme. The documentary film will be about Edmonton Green Market, a vibrant hub for a diverse local community.
The successful filmmaker will have the creative freedom to showcase this heritage story within the brief given by Talkies Cinema. Completion date is 1st February 2024.

Talkies Community Cinema has previously commissioned 34 short films and has a good track record of supporting film makers.
WHAT WILL WE LOOK FOR IN THE APPLICATIONS?
- Relevant experience and good quality previous work, particularly documentaries
- Working to a brief.
- Ability to work sensitively with stallholders and customers to identify compelling stories.
- Experience in and enthusiasm for collaborative working
- The production standards you will bring to the project
- Working to time and budget
- Managing production risks
